Dauphine! Fun fact, the spare tire is stored in the front of the car, but NOT in the trunk, but in a sliding tray that slides out where the license plate is attached! :D

Fun when a Saab 96 is the most common car by many orders of magnitude.

I know it makes things a bit more difficult. I am also pondering finding a Canadian Bellett for the convenience of LHD and reduced import costs. They are just by far more rare than getting one from Japan.

I am sure I mentioned it in the past, a few years ago there was a Bellel diesel on local CL - barnfind, but solid.  I think it had a parts car too.  Kind of a generic Italian-influenced early 60s Euro style, no doubt amusingly slow with plenty of unobtanium trim bits.

You have and I had seen at least one ad for a Bellel with a parts car. Though probably more obscure the Bellel does not interest me, its design, 2.0L diesel, and solid rear axle; meh.

The Giorgetto Giugiaro designed Bellett I love though! Independent suspension at all 4 corners; 1500 SOHC, 1600 DOHC, and 1800 SOHC engines; and a Japanese racing pedigree are reasons why I love them!

I have seen at least 2 ads for Canadian Belletts, one on CL, and one on Kijiji.

Yeah, I bet the Bellel  is a snail, probably something a 190D automatic fintail could dust in a race.

The unusual somehow pleasing rounded shape of the Bellett reminds me of some early Mazdas. Unique, without being flamboyant. Canada seems to have had better exposure to some cars. I know the Toyota Crown was marketed heavier there than in the US, that’s a car that has always interested me.
